Here's some good video editing. George Bush singing a classic U2 song. Kind of spooky:

This makes me very sad.Let us name the ways Republicans and Conservatives have disregarded overwhelming scientific proof to trick people into doubting factual theories: evolution is not real, homosexuality is a choice, humans do not cause global warming, climate change does not exist, Hussein had nuclear weapons, sustainable energy will destroy the economy, 'trickle down' economics, abstinence works...name your own!

Yeah, I don't know how this got on here....
Not as good as the radio version...but still a guilty pleasure for me. Please pass the bubble gum.

new music

I can't embed the video for some reason, but it's a song from Brian Borcherdt who has one of the best grooves I've heard in a long time. I know very little about him, so if you have heard of him, please fill me in.
I have no clue about the video and sometimes it's better to turn away and just listen to the song. Thanks to my friend Chrissy, tho, who turned me on to Borcherdt and who is only slightly less crazy than the rabbit guy in the video. Who knows, perhaps you were oddly fascinated by the video? If so, watch the video The Easter Bunny Hates You.
No one ever said the life of an environmental consultant was glamorous. This blog might be proof of this. This is a night time shot of me spying on one of the annoying cars that has been parking in our alley, blocking the drives and garages. It's quite tight back there already. I've left notes on the dashes, now I'm starting to call the city for ticketing because it doesn't belong to anyone in our row.
Here is a pic of my housemate's hi-tech washing machine. They're really nice except that they really tangle up pant legs, shirt sleeves, and sheets. Better yet, here's a shot of a 3x concentrated detergent they came out with. Bye bye bulky bottles with excess water to ship! This little pup contains enough for 32 loads in a 32 oz. bottle! Now, where that house boy at?
It's been a while since a culinary blog. Don't worry, I'm still cooking (when I'm not working 10hr. days). Recently I grilled eggplant for sandwiches and made a vegan mayonnaise spread! It tasted pretty good, and if you think what real mayonnaise is made of...well...

Yay! It was snowing today in the District. This is the first snowfall this season; just two weeks ago we had temps close to 70. Given my Buffalo roots I like to laugh at how wimpy people here are about winter weather. But I will admit that this snow turned into a big icy mess.
If you click on the daytime picture above you can actually see snow on the roof of the Capitol. (Whoa, when did blogspot start posting full resolution pics? Scary. And sorry about the crooked picture... a) was trying not to get run over, and b) the security around there is a bit scary.)

Though I love the snow, scraping the windshield was always my least favorite part. I got away with it this time and made Marc do it. A comical picture since he is holding a vase of tulips.

reprieve.

The girl puts out a lot, but I've been listening to Ani Difranco's new album Reprieve over the internet. I'm liking what I'm hearing and may purchase it. What do you think of it?
You can listen to it at the Righteous Babe Records website.

the first video
so what's this video craze everyone is all about? i have taken some pretty fun videos with my camera. i'll have to go through the past few years and see what i can pull out. here is one of my favorites of two people getting on the NYC subway with their dogs. I don't know why I find it so entertaining.
i'm hearing voices. and sleuthing.
Lately I've had faint, crackly voices waking me up at night. It takes me a few seconds to wake, then I strain to listen, wonder if I really did hear something, and finally fall back to sleep. The voices sound tinny and far away...like a very quiet alarm clock or a television overheard from down the hall.
Since my orange Sony Ericsson W600i sometimes interferes with radio transmissions, I thought maybe it's causing something to be piped through my radio, whcih I've been leaving on Standby lately.
And so I was just standing at my laptop, thinking about blogging when a clear and excited voice comes through my radio speakers, "Yeah, we're on a mission!" I stop surfing, look at the windows with the drawn blinds, look up at the white ceiling. WTF?! Is George W. Bush bugging my bedroom or something? Or maybe it's those annoying Nextel walkie-talkie beeping transmitters ghetto folk like so much and they're interfering with my radio. Pro'ly the dealers or the trannie across the street. Better than right-wing conservative nut jobs (take your pick--Colter, Bush, Falwell, Robertson) any day.

Bush vs. Country
Record deficits, training for test-taking instead of teaching, duping citizens to create a 'pre-emptive' war, illegal wiretaps, raping the environment, economic hardship, and plain stupidity...not much good has come out of Bush's reign of terror.
At least we've gotten a few laughs like this one. (Not entirely appropriate for work.)
