Watch this video

Did you catch this video that was snuck in during tonight's Democratic debate? It highlights the major failures of the bush presidency and the sour legacy he leaves behind.

I wonder what the goals are of the group promoting this video (not that I disagree with their message). Is this a subtle way to influence independents to vote Democrat in November?

introducing...

Say hello to Bunsen! She's a sweet little black kitty I am sharing a home with. She is my housemate's nieces cat. I hope she is with us for a while!

More pics on my new digs forthcoming.

zen burger

One of the best parts of visiting NYC is trying out all the vegetarian restaurants they have! Zen Burger just opened in midtown and is a meat-free fast-food burger joint! I had a "chicken" sandwich on a whole wheat bun and french fries. Yum-o! They also have burgers, chicken nuggets, fish, and yummy looking soups. Stop by on your next visit! Lexington Ave and 46th.

Union Square

Hitting up the farmer's market in Union Square.

At the Museum of Natural History

On the coldest, windiest day in NYC we hid in the museums, which was the same idea all the screaming children had. But we saw some pretty cool stuff like this 15-ton meteorite. We also saw a movie describing colliding planets, stars, and atoms. They show it in an IMAX theater where the screen forms a dome over your head!

Inside the Guggenheim Museum. We had to duck in while walking along Central Park because the wind was going right through us. Much of it is undergoing renovation...probably a good thing since it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

(This photo is a perfect example of one reason I went with my new camera--the 28mm lens allows for much wider picture taking. Here you can see almost the entire roof and almost down to the floor. Most cameras have 35mm lenses and would have cropped out much more.)

I bet you know where this is. Brr!

One morning we had breakfast on 42nd St. at this cute little restaurant. It's tucked under the bridge leading to Grand Central Station.

Spring Awakening

While in New York City, we saw the musical Spring Awakening. It's a youthful, energetic musical about kids in a repressed German society coming into their prime. At times is has a modern, almost-punk twist. It was at the Eugene O'Neil theater, which is very small and intimate. Check out this clip (fast forward to 1:00):

An update.

Nothing for you to be excited about, but my new camera is on the way! My fingers are crossed that it will arrive tomorrow afternoon because I have fun weekend plans I'd like to report...

If I had received it today (credit card co's fault) I could have tried out the 'snow' setting!

Into 2008

Things have been quiet for a while around Vegdaze. There were the holidays, my camera finally breaking for good, a move to the 'burbs, and hectic things at work.

So I wanted to give a little update of things to expect:

Marc and I have some fun trips planned, so watch out! That will necessitate buying a new camera sooner than later. I started a running schedule for a 10-miler on April 6.

I've also been trying to get msyelf organized...a task seemingly tougher than it should be! Santa fulfilled one of my requests, however, and dropped off Getting Things Done: The Art of Stressfree Productivity. I'm about half way through. I've also been scoping out a new blog with some great life tips, which I'll pass on to you:
