Yeah, thank the goddess he won, otherwise I would have been super depressed! I was stunned by the amount of negative campaigning the Republican candidate did.
Our outgoing Democratic governor, Mark Warner, will probably make a presidential run in 2008. He's leaving a republican state with a 70%+ approval rating, showing he can work with both sides. He'll be a strong candidate with a solid record.
