Fatties, go back to the boat! When the cruise ships come in, these floating feed lots unfortunately dwarf everything on Key West. It's best to flee the picturesque streets of downtown until they've gone, otherwise you'll be swept away in a flotilla of visors, fanny packs, and beer bellies.

I'd rather have them land here. The City gets at least 10,000 USD each time up front, and the tourist economy gets a boost from the fatties' spending. I think we would have to let the harbor fill in without them. It has to be constantly dredged, and the US Navy doesn't do it anymore. I don't know, but I think its better to keep them out of the more sensitive tropical ports like St. John etc.
