Not the best shot, but this is a view over the fence from our backyard. There are lots of catalpa trees around, which I like. They get fun white blossoms and super long seed pods that are even more fun.

The two neighbors who flank either side of the alley recently got city warnings to cut back the vines and seedlings that have been taking over. They could be fined $75 for the overgrowth because, apparently, it can provide rat habitat! Someone did tell me recently that DC has the highest rat population of any U.S. city...!
