Spring pictures of the new Newseum. This is a museum privately owned by some media conglomerates ($20 admission is steep in a town with so many free museums) but I still don't know how they grabbed this prime real estate on Pennsylvania Ave. The quote on the front is great, given the current political climate, and given that it's right between the White House and the Capitol.
There is a lot of reading to be done here, so I will need to go back. On display is the radio tower from the World Trade Center. Behind it are front pages from 9/11/01 from newspapers around the world. It stirs all sorts of emotions--one of which is a bitter reminder of how the world stood with the US until the Bush administration so casually dismantled international support with these ridiculous wars...
On the ground floor there are also sections of the Berlin Wall and a checkpoint (haven't seen them yet).
